RASTAW is a cement-free, premixed powder mortar formulated with natural hydraulic lime, graded sand, microfibers, and specific additives. Designed for both restoration and new construction, it is ideal for repairing and protecting historic masonry, stone structures, and facades, ensuring long-term durability while maintaining breathability.
When mixed with water, RASTAW develops a thixotropic consistency, making it highly workable and suitable for both vertical and horizontal applications. Its transpirant (breathable) properties help regulate moisture, making it an excellent choice for both interior and exterior use.
Available in Rastaw Stone Colour, Rastaw Natural Colour and other colours upon request , it provides aesthetic versatility while seamlessly integrating with historical and new architectural elements.
All surfaces should be clean, dry and dust free. Any surface contaminants like grease, oil and efflorescence must be removed in order to promote adhesion. RASTAW can be used as a repair filler for any holes or cracks or to level any uneven surfaces.
RASTAW should be mixed with a paddle mixer. Mix in a clean bucket using approximately 5-6 litres of clean water per 25kg bag. Mix the product until a smooth and lump-free consistency is achieved and then allow it to stand for 5 minutes, remix thoroughly and then the plaster is ready to apply.
When used as a mortar gently wet the substrate to aid adhesion.
When used as a plaster wet the substrate and apply to a thickness of 5-10mm, further coats must be applied on the same day before the previous coat has dried.
When using as a dehumidifying plaster RASTAW can be built up to a thickness of 20mm but an anti-salt treatment must be applied first.
