RAFIX is a fibre reinforced mortar used to restore structurally damaged or corroded concrete. It’s unique formula of synthetic fibres and aggregates help to improve the appearance of , increase durability and restore the structural integrity of concrete. RAFIX conforms to the European standard UNI EN 1504-3 making it suitable for use on a variety of concrete structures including columns, balconies, beams and floors.

Surface Preparation

Remove all loose debris from around the rebar until a sound layer of concrete is visible. Clean the internal rebar either by shotblasting or wire brush, the sound rebar and concrete must be clean, dry and free from contamination and dust. Apply RAFER according to the application instructions. Allow to cure 3-4 hours.

 

Application

RAFIX should be mixed with a paddle mixer on a low speed setting. Use eye protection and a dust mask at all times. Mix in a clean bucket using approximately 5-6 litres of clean water per 25Kg bag. Mix the product until a smooth lump free mortar is achieved. Apply RAFIX by trowel to a maximum depth of 30mm, allow 2-3 hours to cure. Apply two more layers at 30mm if required up to a total maximum depth of 90mm.

 

Recommendations

Do not apply RAFIX:

  • On damp or wet surfaces
  • When temperatures are below+5°C and over +35°C
  • Do not dilute RAFIX with more than the specified quantity of water

Packaging & Storage

RAFIX is supplied in 25 Kg bags. It can be stored up to 12 months in a cool dry place, in its original unopened packaging.
