RAFER is a rebar corrosion protection coating. It is a specifically formulated water based compound of polymers and bonding agents that act to protect corroded rebar. When structural repairs are necessary RAFER is used in combination with RAFIX to restore the structural integrity of concrete.
Remove all loose debris from around the rebar until a sound layer of concrete is visible. Clean the internal rebar either by shotblasting or wire brush, the affected area must be clean, dry and free from contamination and dust.
Thoroughly mix the product until a smooth consistency is achieved. Lightly dampen the rebar and surrounding area and apply one coat of RAFER by brush making sure that all rebar and concrete is sufficiently covered, this will aid adhesion and protect the area from future corrosion. Allow to dry for one hour. Apply the second coat of RAFER and allow to cure for 3-4 hours. The repair is now ready for the application of RAFIX.
