RASTAW SPECULAR is a high-quality, beige-coloured, breathable hydraulic lime render designed to achieve a fine, smooth finish. Formulated with natural hydraulic lime, fine carbonate sands, fillers, and specialized additives, it ensures excellent workability and durability, making it ideal for both interior and exterior applications.
Particularly suited for the restoration of historic and high-value buildings, RASTAW SPECULAR is commonly used in conservation areas to maintain authentic architectural aesthetics. It can be applied to any cement or lime-based surface, provided it is perfectly flat, delivering a traditional yet refined finish that enhances both heritage and modern structures.
All surfaces should be clean, dry and dust free. Any surface contaminants like grease, oil and efflorescence must be removed in order to promote adhesion.
RASTAW SPECULAR should be mixed with a mechanical paddle mixer to achieve a smooth and lump free consisitency. Mix in a clean bucket using approximately 8 litres of clean water per 20kg bag. Allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes then re-mix thoroughly before application. Wet the substrate first to aid adhesion and apply with a metal or stainless steel trowel to a thickness of no more than 1mm, apply additional coats until a smooth finish is acquired.
