Category:
Brand: RA&Sons

RAFIL (tal-fil) is a dry-premixed sandstone mortar specifically formulated for repointing, grouting and small repairs work on sandstone facades and fired clay. Its unique colour complements various types of sandstone like Maltese or Lecce. It is suitable for both external and internal use.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces should be clean, dry and dust free. Any surface contaminants like grease, oil and efflorescence should be removed in order to promote adhesion.

Mixing And Application

RAFIL should be mixed with a paddle mixer on a low speed setting. Use eye protection and dust mask at all times. Mix in a clean bucket using approx 5-6 litres of clean water per 25kg bag. Mix the product until a smooth lump free mortar is achieved.

To aid adhesion wet the substrate first and then apply the mortar to a maximun depth of 20mm, if more depth is required build up the mortar in layers. Different textures can be achieved by finishing off with a steel jointing tool, sponge or brush. To enhance stain resistance and water ingress apply two coats of RAPROTEX.
