OASI Foundation: A Beacon of Hope and Renewal

The OASI Foundation carries a name rich in symbolism and purpose. Like an oasis in the desert—a sanctuary of life-sustaining water amidst barren surroundings—it serves as a haven for individuals facing the struggles of addiction. Founded on 26th June 1991 in Gozo, the foundation has been a cornerstone of support and transformation for over three decades, empowering people to heal and thrive against life’s challenges.

A Symbol of Renewal and Recovery

Much like an oasis offers refuge and sustenance to weary travellers, the OASI Foundation provides a nurturing environment where individuals can rediscover their potential. Its name encapsulates its mission to inspire renewal and resilience, offering those in need the resources to recover and grow. At its core, the foundation fosters a holistic approach to healing, addressing not just the physical aspects of addiction but also the emotional and spiritual dimensions.

Through innovative programmes, OASI stands as a sustainable sanctuary, creating lasting pathways to recovery. From its adoption of the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous in 1992 to the development of residential treatment services, OASI has continually evolved to meet the needs of the community.

Sanctuary and Support

Just as an oasis provides safety amidst the harsh conditions of a desert, the OASI Foundation offers a place of refuge where individuals find compassion and understanding. It is more than just a physical space—it is a sanctuary where people can confront their struggles in a supportive environment. OASI’s personalised care plans and confidential services ensure dignity and privacy, making recovery a deeply human experience.

Sustainability and Commitment

An oasis thrives through its ability to nurture and sustain life, and OASI mirrors this with its enduring commitment to positive change. By empowering individuals with tools for long-term recovery, the foundation creates a ripple effect of well-being that extends into families and communities. Its ethos, captured in the slogan “Life is beautiful… worth living!”, speaks to the transformative power of hope and perseverance.

Aligning with the Colours of Malta

The OASI Foundation’s work resonates deeply with the values celebrated by the RA Calendar and the Colours of Malta project. Both initiatives aim to highlight the vibrancy and strength of Malta’s cultural and social fabric, drawing attention to organisations that bring colour and meaning to the lives of others. By featuring OASI in January 2025, RA acknowledges the foundation’s vital role in shaping a brighter future for individuals and the community at large.

As RA embarks on this partnership, it looks forward to amplifying OASI’s inspiring message and supporting its invaluable efforts. Together, they aim to shine a light on the beauty of renewal and the strength of the human spirit, making January 2025 not just a celebration of Malta’s colours but also a testament to the power of compassion and resilience.

A message from Raymond

At RA & Sons, we believe in treating every individual with dignity and compassion. This January, we are proud to partner with the OASI Foundation, which provides treatment for those struggling with chemical dependency and addictive behaviours. By focusing on treating individuals as a whole—body, mind, and spirit—OASI helps them regain control over their lives and build a better future.
