Silicate Primer

SILICATE PRIMER is a pigmented primer aimed at pre-treating interior and exterior walls prior to the application of a silicate based render. SILICATE PRIMER is DIN 18636 certified.

 

Surface Preparation

All surfaces should be sound, dust free and clear of any surface contaminants like oil, grease or salt efflorescence. Remove any loose or flaking paint so that the paint has a sound base to adhere to. Mold or algae growth must be removed treated with an anti-fungicidal wash. Any holes in the substrate should be filled.

 

Application

SILICATE PRIMER should be diluted with 10% clean water and applied by brush or roller. Allow to cure for 12 hours before the recommended finish coat is applied.

 

Recommendations

Do not apply SILICATE PRIMER:

  • At temperatures below +8°C or above +35°C
  • Do not apply over old coatings

Packaging & Storage

SILICATE PRIMER is supplied in 5Kg or 20Kg buckets and can be stored up to 6 months in its original unopened packaging
